 Radiation therapy targets only the tumor. But it will affect some healthy tissue surrounding the tumor.

Side effects:

                     Dry mouth.

                     Mouth and gum sores.

                     Difficulty swallowing.

                     Stiffness in the jaw.

                     Nausea.

                     Hair loss.

The mouth cancer is a horseshoe-shaped area under the tongue, between the lower jaw bones (the mandible). When a malignant tumor grows in this area it is called floor of the mouth cancer.
